Awards
Awards exist for each of the five contest categories:
general, under 16, high school, film school and film professional.
State level
Each of the five categories will yield first, second and third place winners as long as the state in question has submitted 10 or more films in a given category. If your state does not submit enough films in your category for an award, your film will still compete on the national level (as long as national submissions are sufficient – see National Level), and on the global level.
Monday March 4th, 2013, 10 state finalists for each eligible state, in each eligible category, will be posted along with their short films, on the Whale Like Me web site here.
Monday May 11th, 2013, 3 state winners for each eligible state, in each eligible category, will be posted along with their short films, on the Whale Like Me web site here.
National level
Each of the five categories will yield first, second and third place winners as long as the nation in question has submitted 20 or more films in the category in question. If your nation does not submit enough films in your category for an award, your film will still compete on the global level.
Monday March 4th, 2012, 10 national finalists for each eligible nation, in each eligible category, will be posted along with their short films, on the Whale Like Me web site here.
