Raise awareness about our oceans
Challenge students to think outside the box
Students can win our state, national and global awards
Enrollment is simple: tell us your name, your class, and the name of your school, pay the 30 USD class enrollment fee, and you’re done! We add you to the list of participating classes so when students enter their films, they will find their class and teacher in the list, allowing them to compete for the student awards.
The Whale Like Me short film contest invites everyone on their own journey to explore the relationship between humans and cetaceans. Your students can form their teams however they see fit - each student can submit one or several films, the entire class can work together on one film, or small groups of your students can work together: these, and any mixture of these is great!
For the first time in history, a global community seems close to seeking protection and inalienable rights for a non-human order of species - Cetacea: whales and dolphins. Through your short films, we invite you to be a part of this unique moment in history. Whether you see whales as persons deserving of rights, or as animals we are free to exploit and consume - join us in presenting to the world how humans view whales in 2013.
